Our process is straight forward, simple, & successful.
We often find that some project teams take brainstorming far too lightly, either not taking it seriously enough or by using ineffective methods, or in some cases skipping the process altogether. Effective brainstorming not only kicks a project into action, but it also helps to get everyone on the team involved and in the right frame of mind. Done correctly, it can set a project out on the right foot, bringing ideas to life, setting solid targets and goals, creating focus, and building energy and buzz.
Too many individuals and businesses simply start hammering nails without taking the time to create the proper plan. I like to say that anytime you undertake a task like building a website, building a house, or starting a marketing campaign, etc. it’s important to spend two-thirds of your time planning and one-third of your time executing. When you take the time to think through your project prior to starting the build you can usually foresee some of these obstacles and come up with a plan for avoiding them.
When the framework is in place and the organization is clear, it's time to work out the visual design. Whatever brand you’re designing for, it will have an identity shaped by an aesthetic and a voice. As a designer, it's your job to communicate the brand’s essence through the visual choices you make. Moodboards are a collage of images, text, and other visuals that help us better understand a brand. This is an informal assemblage — there's no intrinsic need for hierarchy or organization.
Web technologies are always changing -- and changing rapidly at that. Refining the web design process has been a challenge since this wonderful medium's inception, and although we're not at an endpoint, we've made incredible headway. As long as the emphasis of a process is based on learning your clients' needs, studying their audience's behaviours, making valid, well thought-out products, and then continually refining that end product, any process at all really will do.
